The Day of Russia reception, June 12, 2007

On June 12, 2007 the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Mumbai held an official reception on the occasion of the Day of Russia which took place at the Regal Room, Hilton Towers.

This national holiday was established by the decree of the first President of the Russian Federation in 1991 to commemorate the Declaration of Sovereignty approved by the Russian Parliament on June 12, 1990. At present this day is the major official holiday of our country celebrated in a grand style.

Every year the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Mumbai organizes the official reception on this occasion with great success. The guests to the function are the members of the Consular Corps of Mumbai, high ranking Government officials of the state of Maharashtra, distinguished representatives of business, educational and cultural circles of the city, etc.

Russia and India have always had close ties and friendly relationships at all levels and this partnership has been strengthening with every passing year. On this day we also celebrate the friendship between our great nations which is the solid basis for our growing cooperation in all the spheres of life.
